What is the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC)?
Bulldog Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is comprised of 2+ leaders from each Fresno State Athletic Team. Meetings are held on the first Monday of every month in the Ricchiuti Academic Center. Bulldog SAAC discusses issues of interest pertaining to the educational, personal and athletic lives of Student-Athletes at Fresno State. Additionally, Bulldog SAAC coordinates several community service opportunities and personal development events throughout the year including Relay for Life, Food Not Bombs and Code Red. Bulldog SAAC is in communication with the Director of Athletics, the WAC and NCAA in regards to rules, regulations and policies that affect the Student-Athlete experience.

    SAAC Sub-Committees
    Public Relations Committee: The Public Relations Committee creates and distributes a monthly newsletter to the Fresno State Student-Athletes. This newsletter will allow for SAAC to directly communicate its message to the Bulldog Community.

    Finance Committee: The finance committee is in charge of the SAAC budget as well as keeping track of Code Red Attendance.

    Community Service Committee: The Community Service Committee is currently focused on two large community service campaigns:

    Events Committee: The Events Committee is in charge of promoting Code Red Events as well as planning events for the entire Student-Athlete Community.

    The Student-Athlete Advisory Council has adopted the idea of the CODE RED spirit group to help support one another at all home athletics events, and more specifically at designated games/matches/tournaments which warrant great fan support. The CODE RED events are those that will have a major impact on the seasons of our various athletic teams. When you see CODE RED, get out and support your fellow Bulldogs!

    Mission Statement of Bulldog Student-Athlete Advisory Committee:

    Bulldog SAAC is the Fresno State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, a collaboration of student-athletes representing all 17 teams competing for Fresno State. The mission of Bulldog SAAC is to:

  • Bring the student-athlete community together by bridging the gap between all athletes
  • Create relationships between student-athletes and the community by organizing community service efforts
  • Generate a voice from within the Student-Athlete Community and being the liaison between the administration, coaches, faculty and staff at Fresno State
  • Provide feedback to the athletic administration on proposed conference and NCAA legislation
  • Advise the athletic administration on how to spend NCAA funds
