FRESNO, Calif. - The Western Athletic Conference named Frank Sanders the WAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week on Monday, April 21.

Sophomore Frank Sanders, a middle-distance runner from Turlock, Calif. (Pitman HS) clocked a regionally-qualifying time in the 800-meter run over the weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. Sanders won the 1,500m run Friday as well, timing in at 3:50.42. On Sunday, Sanders took silver in the 800m with a time of 1:50.42 to earn a bid to the regional meet. Both times are personal bests and lead the WAC by two seconds apiece.

Sanders is Fresno State's first runner to qualify for the 2008 post-season.
