FRESNO, Calif.- The Fresno State baseball team plays its final home stand of the season this weekend when they play host to San Jose State Friday through Sunday. This weekend is also the final home games for Steve Susdorf, Jason Breckley, Ryan Overland, Brandon Burke, Blake Amador, Clayton Allison, Jake Hower and Kris Tomlinson.

First pitch on Friday is set for 6 p.m. while Saturday's doubleheader starts at 2 p.m. and Sunday's game begins at 1 p.m. All four games can be heard live on 580 KMJ.

The two teams have met 207 times coming into this weekends series. The Bulldogs lead the overall series with a 140-67 record. Fresno State has won nine straight meetings against the Spartans. Last year the Bulldogs defeated San Jose State, 15-9, 9-4, 12-9 and 6-2.

Fresno State is in first place in the WAC with a 16-8 mark and they have a one-game lead over Nevada who is 15-9. The Bulldogs are 28-24 overall. The Spartans enter this weekend with a 26-20 record and a 12-11 mark in conference.

Danny Stienstra leads San Jose State offensively with a .387 batting average. As a team San Jose State is hitting .271. San Jose State has the second best era in the WAC at 4.90. Ryan Shopshire is 5-1 while Scott Sobczak is 4-1.

Alan Ahmady leads Fresno State with a .368 average, eight homeruns and 60 RBIs. Erik Wetzel is hitting .366 while Steve Susdorf is batting .347 with eight homeruns and 62 RBIs.
 

 

Susdorf is nine RBIs away from becoming the Fresno State career RBI leader as he recorded 192 RBIs during his career as a Bulldog. Todd Johnson, who played at Fresno State from 1990-93, currently holds the record with 200 RBIs.
