FRESNO, Calif. - For the second time in his career Fresno State senior Steve Susdorf has been named to the ESPN the Magazine University Division Academic All-District 8 First Team. Susdorf also earned the honor in 2006. The Bulldog senior is now eligible for Academic All-American honors.
Susdorf is a Civil Engineering major who boasts a 3.7 GPA. He has garnered Academic All-WAC honors three times while helping lead the Bulldogs to back-to-back WAC championships. Susdorf is the 2008 Preseason WAC Player of the Year and was named to the 2007 All-WAC and All-Regional Team
"Steve Susdorf has represented Fresno State with class since the first day he stepped on to our campus," Fresno State coach Mike Batesole said. "He has been outstanding on the field, where he will own or be in the top five in most offensive categories. He will graduate on time in Engineering with close to a 4.0, and he has been a tremendous leader in the clubhouse. He is the major reason we have won back-to-back WAC Championships and we are fighting for our third".
Susdorf is currently batting .347 with eight homeruns and 62 RBIs. He has a WAC best 22 doubles. The Bulldog senior needs only nine RBIs to become the schools' career All-Time RBI leader. He is currently fourth in homeruns with 34 for his career and second in doubles with 59. Susdorf also is ranked fourth in career hits and fifth in runs scored.
