FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State will be host to teams around the nation as they gear up for the fourth annual Kitahara Fresno State Invitational. The two day tornament will be held at the Copper River Country Club in Fresno, Feb. 25-26. The Bulldogs are two-time champions at their home tournament winning in 2005 and 2007. The field is strong with 16 team. The teams competing are Boise State, Colorado State, Hawaii, Kansas, Long Beach State, USF, Nevada, New Mexico State, Fresno State, Sac State, San Diego State, Santa Clara, Tulsa, UC Davis, UC Irvine and Portland State.

The Course and Set-up

Fresno State will host the annual home tournament at Copper River Country Club. The par 72 course is drawn out on 6,072 yards. The practice round is Sunday and round one will start at 9:30 a.m. on Monday with tee times off of holes one and 10. The second and final round will conclude on Tuesday, Feb. 26 with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. Admission is free to the public and there will be live scoring available on www.golfstat.com.

Fall Season Wrap-up

The Bulldogs competed in five tournaments including a one-day dual match with CSU Bakersfield. The `Dogs have averaged a team score of 308 for the fall season. The low round of the season came from Laura Luethke with a 71 at the Giustina Memorial. Luethke shot par or better three times this season. Luethke, Siebert, Escandon, and Coppin have participated in every tournament so far this year.

Top-Ten Individual Finishes

Senior Laura Luethke had her second top-ten finish of the year. In the three tournaments, the Bulldogs have competed in this season, Luethke has finished tied for seventh and tied for third at the Heather Farr Memorial.

Taylor Siebert finished with the low round in the one day, one round dual match with CSU Bakersfield. Out of the 12 players she finished first with a score of 75. Siebert also shot an even 72 in the third round to tie for seventh place at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic.
