FRESNO, Calif. - For her part in the Fresno State softball team's 7-0 record last week and winning the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif., freshman catcher Caitlin Stiglich earned her first Western Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week honor.

Stiglich batted .476 over the seven games, with seven runs, 10 hits and a team-high 12 RBI's. She had two RBI's, a double, a hit and a run in two five-inning games vs. Northern Colorado on Tuesday.

Her biggest game of the year came against No. 6 Michigan on day one of the tournament as she had two runs, three hits, including a double and a home run and four RBI's against the Wolverines.

She also had three hits and three RBI's against Utah, two hits a run and an RBI against Illinois and a home run and two RBI's against Cal State Fullerton.

The Bulldogs improved to 30-5 on the season, the best start in 11 years for Fresno State. At 5-0 in the Judi Garman Classic, the Bulldogs won the title as the only team to go undefeated, in a field that included 11 top 25 ranked teams and No. 1 Arizona State.

Other hitter of the week nominees included: Kaulana Gould of Hawai'i, Noelle Micka of Nevada and Emily Reilly of Utah State.

Nevada's Jordan McPherson was named the WAC Pitcher of the week, the first honor on the season for the senior as well.

Other pitcher of the week nominees included: Morgan Melloh of Fresno State and Courtney Baughman of Hawai'i.
