LOGAN, Utah - Fresno State will be the final Western Athletic Conference team to play a conference game in 2008 as they travel to Utah State for a three-game series beginning on Friday for one game at 2 p.m. and two games on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. pacific time.

This Week's Matchup
The Bulldogs and the Aggies meet for just the third time as two members of the WAC Conference. Fresno State has won the last five meetings, dating back to 2001 and leads the overall series 18-11 which began in 1978. The Aggies are 5-17 on the year and 0-3 in conference play.
Last Week's Recap
In a tournament that included 11 top 25 ranked teams last week on the campus of Cal State Fullerton, the Fresno State softball team was the only team to go a perfect 5-0 to be named the tourna¬ment champions. Fresno State defeated No. 6 Michigan and No. 20 Long Beach State, along with Illinois, Utah and Cal State Fullerton.
The Bulldogs picked up their 30th win on the season and are off to the best start in 11 years.
Freshman pitcher Morgan Melloh picked up her 20th win on the season with a 2-0 shutout over No. 20 Long Beach State in the final game of the tournament.
WAC Hitter of the Week
Freshman Caitlin Stiglich was named the Western Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for the first time in her career, and the fourth time a Bulldog has earned a WAC Player of the Week honor this season. Stiglich batted .496 on the week, including a team-high .529 at the Judi Gar¬man Classic and had a tournament-high 10 RBI's.
National Polls
Fresno State moved up two spots in the USA Softball poll to No. 12 this week, its highest ranking ever in the four year his¬tory of the poll. The Bulldogs also made the biggest leap from one week to the next by a Bulldog team in the NFCA poll as they jumped six spots to No. 13, the highest ranking since 2004 when they were ranked No. 12.
